About Us

Organization History

Divine SCRIPT Society was formed on 11th April 2011 as an NGO with the key objective of Securing Childhood; Restoring Innocence& Preventing Trafficking. Our prime focus is ‘to provide an alternative choice of livelihood”. Our production unit & provision for shelter was started on 2nd December 2011. We started our sponsorship program on January 2012.

At present operating with trainees from Munshigunj red light area, and nearby marginalized community, the Society has hopes of covering other red light areas too and provides them with an alternate livelihood.

As in any other red light area, in Munshigunj alone about 2000 prostitutes and their children struggle for their basic rights everyday, facing exploitation from their landlords, pimps, clients and from other stakeholders.

The volunteers and board members at Divine SCRIPT want to facilitate them with the choice of different ‘professions’, prepare them for a society where they will not be stigmatized any more and will get a chance to live a dignified life, as a part of the mainstream society.

Divine SCRIPT Society plans to expand the Income generation program by creating/ identifying market demands on the goods that the production unit produces by using recycled products. By creating an employment opportunity, the Society hopes to enable more and more women to leave their existing profession of extreme physical torture/ violence and human right violation and also prevent human trafficking at large.
